Membership Information

Non-Transferable Membership:
Membership rights, privileges, or obligations are not transferable to another person.

Founding Members:
Persons who were members before the Institute’s incorporation automatically became Members upon its incorporation.

  • At the end of each annual general meeting, the Executive Committee appoints a member to chair the Membership Committee.
  • Within one week of appointment, the chairperson must appoint two other members (one must be an Officer) to the Membership Committee at their discretion.
  • The Membership Committee processes all local and overseas membership applications, submitting them to the Executive Committee for final approval and recommendations.
  • The Secretary maintains a register of members, including full name, address, membership start and end dates, and membership grade.
  • The register is available for inspection by members with reasonable notice to the Secretary.
  • Members who have paid all fees may resign by giving at least one month’s written notice to the Secretary.
  • After the notice period, the Secretary will record the membership end date in the register.
  • The Executive Committee may terminate and expel members for non-compliance with rules or unbecoming conduct after giving the member an opportunity to be heard.
  • The Chairperson or presiding officer may suspend members from meetings for disrupting orderly proceedings after due warning.
  • Actions may be taken by the Executive Committee if a member refuses to comply with rules or engages in conduct harmful to the Institute’s interests.
