Cartier Lam is the Executive Director and Chief Executive of BEA China.
At the heart of a talented team, Cartier is now leading BEA China towards its goal of becoming the trusted and preferred banking partner in mainland China – now the world’s second largest economy.
A nearly three decade career at BEA has taken Cartier to its Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Taipei and Dalian Branches, where he served in managerial positions. Cartier also held a senior position at ING Bank. Since the local incorporation of BEA China in 2007, Cartier’s deep insight into the mainland and Greater China markets has proved invaluable in his responsibilities of strategic planning, financial control, human resources, corporate and retail banking, and marketing and corporate communications.
A keen supporter of social issues, Cartier helped BEA China to establish the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation-BEA Fund, whose work now covers education, NGOs, and disaster relief programmes nationwide. Cartier is an overseas director of the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation.
Cartier is Vice President of the China Banking Association (“CBA”) and Director of its Foreign Bank Working Committee. He is Vice Chairman of Shanghai Financial Association.
