There are grades of membership within the Association:
Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
-
- Entitled to use the designatory letters CMA
- Degree from a recognised university or Professional Qualification in Accounting, completion of CMA units
- 5 years relevant experience approved experience in a senior and responsible Management Accounting position is required.
Associate Management Accountant (AMA)
-
- Entitled to use the designatory letters AMA
- Degree from a recognized university or Professional Qualification in Accounting
- 3 years relevant experience approved experience is required.
Graduate Management Accountant (GMA)
-
- Entitled to use the designatory letters GMA
- Degree from a recognized university or Professional Qualification in Accounting or completion of the Graduate program
- There are no experience requirements.
Registered Business Accountant (RBA)
-
- Entitled to use the designatory letters RBA.
- Degree (Bachelors) in any discipline other than Accounting from a recognized University
- or 3 Stages of a Professional Qualification in Accounting
- or completion of Stages 1,2 & 3 of the ICMA’s Graduate program
- There are no experience requirements.
Registered Cost Accountant (RCA)

- Entitled to use the designatory letters RCA
- Diploma in Accounting from a recognized Technical College (TAFE)
- or 2 Stages of a Professional Qualification in Accounting
- or completion of Stages 1 & 2 of the ICMA’s Graduate program
- There are no experience requirements.
Associate Management Accountant (AMA)

- Entitled to use the designatory letters CAT
- Certificate in Accounting from a recognized Technical College (TAFE)
- or Stage 1 of a Professional Qualification in Accounting
- or completion of Stage 1 of the ICMA’s Graduate program
- There are no experience requirements.
Additionally, there are the following membership grades:
Honorary membership

- Available for distinguished persons whose services to Management Accounting and related disciplines in the opinion of the Executive Committee merit this award of membership.
Student membership
-
- Not entitled to use any designatory letters
- Must have a minimum education standard of year 12 or equivalent.
