CPD Requirement

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program (Hong Kong Scheme)

Preamble
The design for the institute’s CPD program began since 1 July 2014 and is introduced in two stages.

Stage one is a 12 month orientation commencing from 1 July 2014. During this period, CMA members should fulfill the requirement of the following CPD hours renewing membership.

CMA CPD requirement – (Hong Kong syllabus) 
Audit Period 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015
Accumulated Hours 30 CPD hours per year

  • 30 CPD hours accumulated within CMA Hong Kong Branch CPD programs

OR

  • 20 CPD hours accumulated within CMA Hong Kong Branch CPD programs and
  • 10 CPD hours accumulated with outside provider(which must be approved by CMA Hong Kong Branch)
CPD Audit CPD audit on a random selection of members each year
Non-compliance Audit period will be extended by 3 months

Stage two is the formal introduction of the program commencing from 1 July 2015.

All the Hong Kong CMA members are required to complete at least 30 hours of relevant professional development events each year and all of these hours should be verifiable.

CPD Details

CMA status members are required to earn 30 hours per year.

  • The CPD attendance record will be distributed to attendees after the event, it is required that membersmustprovide these hardcopy records to CMA Hong Kong Branch as evidence for year-end audit checking.
  • The attendance hours at programs held by the auspices of CMA Hong Kong Branch should be the actual attending hours the members spent.
  • No CPD hours are allocated for reading
