Professor Judy Tsui

Senior Advisor, Institute for New Economic Thinking

Prof. Tsui is Senior Advisor of Institute for New Economic Thinking (among its Leadership Team, Founding Sponsors and Advisory Board members are 6 Nobel Laureates in Economics), and Director of Joy Sprouts, Inc. She is also a certified senior associate of AsiaCorp Enterprises Ltd. in the Leadership Architect suite of tools for assessment, selection, and development of leaders and talents at all levels. 

Prof. Tsui is an Elected Member of the Election Committee for the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR Government representing the Accounting Functional Constituency (2006 and 2012). She was Vice President (International and Executive Education) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2010-2014) and Chair Professor of Accounting (2002-2014), Dean of Faculty of Business (2002-2010), Director of Graduate School of Business (2003-2011). 

Prof. Tsui holds positions as Honorary Professor and Visiting Professor at several top universities in the Mainland. She has been appointed as a Visiting Scholar of the Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA and is currently an Honorary Professor of the University of Warwick in the U.K. She was the first professor in Accounting who was awarded Cheung Kong Chair Professorship by the Ministry of Education in the Mainland (2005-2008). 

Prof. Tsui serves as a member of the Research Grants Council (2008-2014), and she served as a member of University Grants Committee (2008-2013), both appointed by the Hong Kong SAR Government. She has been appointed Member of Nominating Committee of International Federation of Accountants (2012-2015). 

Prof. Tsui served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of CLP Holdings Ltd (2005-2014) and China Vanke Co. Ltd. in the Mainland (2005-2011) and as its consultant   (2011-2013).

Professor Lin Zhi Jun
Dean, School of Business, Macau University of Science and Technology

Professor Zhijun Lin, is the Head of Department of Accountancy & Law at Hong Kong Baptist University. He received the first Ph.D in Economics and Accounting degree in China (1985) from Xiamen University [M.A. in Economics (1982)] and Msc. in Business Administration (The University of Saskatchewan, Canada (1991)]. Professor Lin has taught at Xiamen University, China; The University of Lethbridge, Canada; The University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University over the last 30 years. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and The Australian Institute of Certified Management Accountants. Professor Lin is also a member of several international and regional accounting academic associations (including the International Association of Accounting Education and Research, the American Accounting Association, the Academy of Accounting Historians, the Hong Kong Accounting Academic Association (as its president in 2010-2012). Professor Lin is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Overseas Cooperation Committee of the China Society of Accounting.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Ms. Cheung Yuen Yi Pauline is a Senior Lecturer of Hang Seng Management College. Her teaching area includes Financial Accounting; Cost and Management Accountant; and Advanced Management Accounting. Ms. Cheung holds a Master in Accountancy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is a co-author of “Intellectual capital disclosure and initial public offerings: Evidence from Hong Kong. The 3rd Annual Conference World Accounting Frontiers Series (WAFS), May 2011, University of Macau, Macau SAR, China” and has received the Best Paper Award in Business.

Professor Phyllis Mo

Professor, City University of Hong Kong

Professor Phyllis Mo is a veteran auditing professor. Before joining CityU, she was Head and Professor at the Department of Accountancy at Lingnan University.  Professor Mo was an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and a senior internal auditor at Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB).  Currently, she is a member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), a  fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of CMA Australia.

Professor Mo is a strong advocate of knowledge transfer and spillover between accounting academics and the practicing accounting profession.  Currently, she is a member of the Auditing & Assurance Standard Committee of the HKICPA. She is very keen to interact with students and alumni, and actively supports students’ internships and placements through her strong connections with the professional and business communities.

Professor Mo’s research focuses on auditing and taxation.  She has published articles in leading academic journals including Journal of Accounting and Economics, The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, The Journal of the American Taxation Association and Journal of International Accounting Research.  She has also published two research monographs: Tax Avoidance and Anti-avoidance Measures in Major Developing Economies and A Dream of the Red Chambers and Corporate Governance of Family Business (《紅樓夢》與家族企業管治).

Dr. Tsz Leung Yip

Associate Director, C.Y. Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies, Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Dr. Tsz Leung Yip is the Associate Director, C. Y. Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies and Associate Professor, Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, Faculty of Business, 

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  He received his BEng and PhD degrees from The University of Hong Kong and MBA from the University of Manchester.  He is practicing as engineering consultant in the discipline of logistics and transportation and has provided consultancy services to governments and companies on risk matters of port and marine traffic. His research interests include engineering management, risk management and low-carbon management related to logistics and transportation.
